Welcome to our FAQ section to serve both current and prospective candidates. You should find all the answers to your questions here, but let us know if that’s not the case and we’ll happily help out.

NOTE:  Exam seats are booked on a 'first come first served' basis.  YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO 'reserve spaces' . YOU MUST BOOK AND TAKE YOUR EXAM BEFORE BOOKING A RE-SIT.

 I have booked with my certification body and told my  exam will be held at your centre.  Can you confirm if my exam will go ahead on that date?

We can only confirm booking arrangements for exams booked via our website and scheduler.   Exams booked on any other website (eg  CFA, UKVI) will be managed by a partner such as Prometric  (CFA, UKVI) or PSI (CIPS, CII),  or the organisation running that website. 


Please do not ring the Centre with requests about these exam bookings, we are given no access to the booking information of any 3rd party candidates and will not be advised of attendees names until just before the exam event.  You can find Information about your specific booking and answers to your queried via the contact details given on your confirmation letter/notification email

How do I book an exam at your centre?

All individual exams (includes all AAT exams) need to be booked via the scheduler on this website.  Go to the section which deals with your exam as identified on the menu, select your exam and follow the on-screen instructions to book your exam.

I have booked my exam.  Can I get a VAT invoice for payment?

Yes.  You should have received a receipt of payment made at the time of booking.  If you require a full invoice, please send us an email with details of the name and address to which the invoice should be sent.

I have booked my exam.  What happens next?

You will receive email notification confirming the booking of your exam immediately after your booking.  Contact the centre immediately if you do nor receive this notification. This will provide details of the date and time if your exam.  You are responsible for checking that this information is correct and that you have booked the right exam

I cannot make the date I booked, can I reschedule the exam?

You can reschedule your exam by clicking the 'reschedule' link on your confirmation email.  However, we require a minimum of 5 working days’ notice (7 full days) for the change to take effect.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your booking and request as full refund up to 7 days after your booking, Cancellations may be subject to loss of some or all of your payment, subject to your reason for cancellation and the amount of notice given.  See...

How long will it take to get my results?

This varies according to the exam.


Results of AAT are sent out as follows:- 

  •  UACS  and  all levels of Synoptic assessments take 6 weeks to be available. 

  • You should receive the results of all other Level 2 and Level 3 exams within 24 hours.

  • All Level 4 exams require a 6 weeks wait for the exam result.

Why can’t I re-sit straight away?

While there is no official timeline for resitting your exam, you will have to wait for your results before you re-sitting an exam.

How much does it cost to re-sit the exam?

The cost of a exam resit exam is the same as your initial exam.  There are no additional charges to pay.

How many times can I resit my exam?

This depends on your certification partner.  There is no limit to the number of AAT resits you can take.

What can I take into the exam room?

Pens/pencils, a calculator (for any number-based exams) and photographic ID.  We need to prove you are who you say you are. We will not be able to seat you for your exam if you do not have your ID with you.


You will provided with scrap paper and 3 pencils in the exam room. You must not remove any scrap paper from the exam room You may wish to bring your own pen calculator. If so your calculator must not be able to print nor be programmable.    

You are NOT allowed to take any of the following into the exam room with you: mobile phone, pencil case, books/notes or any other papers/notebooks.

How long are the exams?

This varies according to the exam. Contact your training provider or the AAT for this information. Please arrive at the centre 30 mins before the start of your exam.

What do I do at the start of the exam?

You will be given a  code by your invigilator to launch your exam. It is suggested you carefully read all the instructions provided on screen.

What should I do if I have a problem during the exam?

Put up your hand to attract the attention of the invigilator.  Please note that we can only help with issues concerning the running of the exam software, or to allow you to take a break (scheduled or unscheduled).  You must ensure you read the instruction given for each exam as we are not able to explain how to answer questions in any exam

What should I do if I have a problem during the exam which adversely affects my performance in the exam ?

Put up your hand to attract the attention of the invigilator.  If after requesting his/her help you feel the issue has affected your ability to complete the exam correctly, you must identify this to the invigilator during the checkout process, and insure an incident form is raised,  Failure to raise an incident form before leaving the centre may result in our inability to verify what happened during your exam.

What happens after I get my exam result?

Your result will be uploaded onto your MyAAT.  If you were unsuccessful, you will be able to book a re-sit.
